I jumped into it because I thought it was kinda cool. I have purchased 3 packs, and other moments of players that I like. Even though I've been on it a few months now, I will be honest and say that I originally joined because I was hoping to recapture some of that feeling I had collecting cards in the 80's/90's. I think its a cool concept, but its being tainted already because it just feels like its not for "Fans" at this point, it just people looking to invest and flip. Im in it to grab clips of players I like. My 9 year old Son watch my new pack opening with me tonight and he thought it was so cool...BUT I dont think its something that will keep his interest if he had his own moments like his physical Pokemon cards because he can consume as much NBA highlights as he wants on there platforms. Its crazy that the "value" and actual worth of these Top Shot moments is literally made up out of NOWHERE! It makes me feel like this is more about the "crypto" movement than something cool for Sports Fans! Now with it being all digital, the potential to do cool and unique things is incredible...for instance say you can get a special rare moment from a game you attendend if you register your ticket stub on Topshot, NOW THAT would be awesome and truly rare and unique to that specific game! Im a Sixers fan, what if i attended a game and Simmons hits a 3! And Top Shot made a special moment of that, but it was only available as a verified attendee of the game! Thats would be incredible, valuable, and rare because it would only be limited to...at most, the number of tickets that were purchased for the game! And don't have that clip available in a regular Top shot pack! It has potential, and I think it will be even more popular moving forward once the "Early Leeches" stop making it so damn expensive because its just about flipping and money to them. Top Shot has to find a way to make this affordable for fans AND KIDS...and mimic the way physical cards were accessible to everyone, but still had special edition stuff and things that make them truly valuable. Ive only invested around $300 in it so far, and I have 22 total moments. But Im going to stay in it for a while and see how it goes. I have some original series 1 moments but mostly series 2...think those will be key to hold on to for when ever Top Shot moves out of their "Beta" phase and allows more people to sign up! I believe new customer sign ups are still on freeze. There is a fine line between having a dream that's mostly possible through hard work and determination and being delusional into thinking you have the physical ability to go up against a pro athlete regardless of how that pro stacks up again other pros, you're still nowhere near their level. There's a very good reason the NBA is where every basketball player wants to come and play because only the most elite will ever be drafted and even if you're the last player to be drafted, that player is still at another level over the best playground player or high school player or even college player.
