Jordon, you have so much wisdom and I believe God is using you whether you believe in Him or not. Obviously, I hope that one day you will have unswerving faith without doubt. I will pray for you and the pain you are dealing with right now and will ask for relief to come your way.

I’ve been able to help so many people but I cannot help myself. Why? Simple put you have been an instrument of God. If you could help yourself then it would not be God it would be your own point of pride. So if you want change seek a relationship with God. Seek Him in fasting and prayers. Seek Him out in new ways.

Just my opinion, but I believe the HOLY SPIRIT is all over Jordan Petersen and he has not experienced the physical power of God. As he welcomes HIS presence, he will realize HIS calling and be used of God mightily. Just a note: I have been in daily pain for 40 years and understand.

Jordan, it's tearing you apart because it's impossible in your own strength. The Grace of God is the only means by which it becomes possible. You have to surrender your entire being, piece by piece, to Christ. He will place His Spirit inside of you and supernaturally intervene.

I think understand theosis (that you should aim to be like god), but when people tried it in the tower of babel story they got punished for it. I feel like there is something wrong in my understanding of that story of babel or in how to bring those two things together, but I cant figure out what. Maybe someone can help me with it.

This whole insistence of the world HAVING to manifesting patterns into one place in history just sounds like utter nonsense. Like I can buy the importance of symbolism to human consciousness and it's evolution over time, and even that this is phenomenally more important and powerful that we imagine, but this claim Jonathan keeps making, which he seems to attribute to CS Lewis, doesn't appear to follow from anything else. Like it's not based on anything and just pulled out of thin air for no reason but that it suits people who have chosen a literal interpretation.

Growing up as a Christian I've always learned alot...I can't put myself in Jordan's shoes but Christ always has a reason cause even tho we don't understand. I've also learned tht when were gonna go through hard times we can't feel him near us like he's a million miles away keep believing because we're human he's always there for us. I’m not religious but I think a quote from the Bible is something like God never gives you more than you can handle. You discuss how it feels on a daily basis that you can’t handle it... and yet you are here handling it. You count your blessings. Try to do that from another perspective. Count your blessings through the view of what you could have lost. Mikhaela could be crippled or dead. Your wife could not be around anymore. You could still be alive but a drug addict or brain dead. You have suffering but you have all the elements necessary to persevere still at your disposal.

The amount of love and support in these comments, though I am sure there are some not so nice ones somewhere, really blesses my soul. If all of our brothers and sisters in Christ can participate in this way between the sects and denominations then we could see a great revival once again in a world that is practically begging for it.

I always cringe when I hear theosis or "become God". Maybe I am not truly understanding what he means by becoming God. I was raised Pentecostal and only recently have started to learn about my brothers and sisters in the eastern orthodoxy. But the thought of becoming God repulses me at a certain level. If you mean becoming God in the sense that we will join him and enter a perfect relationship with God, then I am on board with that. But the phrase makes me think more of the way that Mormons say it. Like we are going to become gods and gain our own planets or something. Even in our perfected bodies we will still be far below God. Even below the Angels. Physically and hierarchically speaking.

It’s as simple as trusting a friend who made a promise to fulfill what he promised! thats faith!

The best question is to ask what is God trying to say or teach me through my pain. I personally draw so much strength from knowing christ went through horrible times, the bible calls him “ A men familiar with pain” Understanding it wasn’t even for his sake but mine , puts me in a grateful place that even in pain I’m grateful for me to only accept good things from God would be wickedness cause he owes me nothing at this point but yet he does not hold back in making sure my needs are provided for And it’s through suffering and pain we are united together with christ awaiting to be raised in glory because now we know what it truly means to love him through our suffering as he did for us for no man is greater than his master.

Lord I believe, help my unbelief. 23:51 Dr. Jordan Peterson holds that something believed is something accepted (this is true), but for practical purpose I would add, unfortunately, for poor, or selfish, or malicious motives, it is possible a person down here willfully sets themselves against whatever reality they understood to be true, because they hate it and would prefer instead the goodness of reality be according to their will rather than them preferring to will good in light of the reality that is before them i.e., rather than according to God's will. The truth is Dr. Peterson has been blessed tremendously, and is envisioning a person completely entrusted to God, given over, in love and relationship with the good God to such an extent they have completely become one with God (this is for example a description of a person in Heaven, one having come through purgatory/fully embracing the cross for love). May each’s degree of such relationship/unity with God increase here as much as possible so that we'll become most ready for this transformation, this relationship. It is a transformation that if we ultimately refuse, we are lost, but if we are in relationship with the Lord, persisting in relationship with God, with the Lord we'll be made new. Jesus, I Trust in You. Amen.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s PHYSICAL BODY through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation- IF you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. STAND FIRM. 🙏

*GOD is not a christian, I'm sure =) I'm a recovering christian and appreciate your take on the old testament stories. Christians have millions different takes on the bible, but are not that interested in the old testament. The worst thing is that they follow Pauls ideas, not Jesus. They love Jesus but follow Paul, who btw never met Jesus still 3/4 of the NT may be Paulus words. No one knows for sure. God talked to him in dreams and appointed him an apostel. How about that? So glad I got out of the cult. Jesus was a Jew btw but became a christian idol.

What if God (I Am) is buried in everyone, and the truth unfolds in all! The story of God becomes man (Elohim) that man may become God is without reference to time or duration and the story is set on a loop and when it will end is unknowable? Until it's experienced by the individual and transformation is complete and we have an entirely new body & mind. What if rebirth (or spiritual birth) is an individual experience from Adam to Adam and we can not know when? When God's promise happens we will KNOW and we will be free in the true sense of the word, ever expanding creation. The creator so loves His creation that .... Ugh! When talking about Heaven on Earth so to speak, I recently have came to the conclusion that aiming and submitting to the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control is how you inherit the kingdom of Christ. You do this by crucifying your own flesh with its passion and desires. So as long as you are living by the way of the flesh you will never inherit the kingdom of Christ. Notice how the kingdom of Christ is an inheritance which means it’s something that comes to you rather than you to it. This can all be found in Galatians 5. I say this because it speaks on to what Jonathan was saying about aiming to Heaven means always aiming lower to what Heaven actually is. Submit and embody the fruits of the spirit and once you do that sufficiently in the eyes of the Lord, the kingdom of Christ will be your reality.

The Orthodox church has many traditions that are confusing. It's important to remember that we can't judge Christianity by the acts of fallible humans. We need to judge it by the teaching of Jesus. We all fail, but we are reminded that Jesus loves us like a Father and wants us to succeed. So we lean on Him and keep trying. Try praying. You might feel awkward or uncomfortable, but keep doing it. Mark 12:28-34 sums up where I think Mr. Peterson is at, and I wish I had some particular honor, or wealth, or means that I could just sit for an evening and speak with him... If by some fluke you read this, I think every true Christian can relate. The realization of the righteousness of God, the real visceral confrontation with it, is a terrifying experience. It's the most afraid I have ever been in my whole life. But it is only at that threshold of understanding that the true character and love of Christ blazes forth. We were created to be a likeness of him, not out of vanity, but because in his goodness it was the highest gift and capacity he could bestow. And we who willingly became his enemies, God redeemed at the highest cost. There is no other acceptable atonement, no works or deeds that we can offer. But the message of the Bible is not a series of clever self help parables. It's the story of who our creator is, and how he made a way for us to be saved. Knowing the true character of God by the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ is meant to lead us to repentance, and ultimately love. If you strip the cross of it's meaning, and make it a sermon of ideal goodness, you miss the message entirely. You cannot by good deeds repay the debt you bear, that is the fear. But He paid the price you bore, and he did it once for all. If you truly comprehend and believe that, your life changes; he changes you. And one day, you'll be where he is, where the source of all goodness walks in his garden. Don't stop at the threshold, at the fear. Go through the narrow gate, where his perfect love casts out fear and makes us whole. May God bless you, and may you all be found in Christ Jesus at the end.

Jordan squirms in church because he is not the priest. His root sin to overcome is the most deadly of the seven. It is the sin of the Jesuit and all other PhDs and educators. The sin of pride. When one spends his adult life preaching to younger people whose future he has so much power over, who lives as the king in his own little feifdom, one has a very difficult time becoming subservient. They see themselves as experts that others should obey. They should always be at the head of the classroom. We see this in the anger of intellectuals who resent that they are not all powerful and believe they have all the solutions. This is the root of the destruction of our colleges and universities. The professor comes to believe himself more wise and capable than all the generals and politicians, all the businessmen and especially the common man. If the professor is not honored and listened to he can at least recruit his students to burn it all down. He is blind to all the instances, which are quite numerous, that he and his ilk have been wrong.

Jordan I have been forever changed by your influence. I feel a real love for you, in the same, way I love Christ. Thank you for your honest sincerity, for your vulnerability, for your humility. You are a giant among mortals. You are fulfilling the mission God sent you to earth to accomplish. He must love you in a very personal way.

The “world” is at odds with God. As long as we have to be here we remain separated from a perfectly holy God unable to see Him because we transgressed. Christ fills that gap and bridges us back to God through Himself. The fear you feel should be considered respect for the power God has to bring you to Him or keep you forever separated. Where would you rather be? Fear leads to understanding. All you guys are saying is directly written in scripture.

Why should you believe? God is nice enough not to force you to. You seem to be trying to craft your own form of salvation by reasoning your way to it. Christ’s example was full and complete submission to the will of His father. All we must do is believe that. Ultimate slavery to His will is antithetical to human conventional wisdom. It means we are wrong. Anything to which we aspire that is NOT Christ is, by definition, opposite of Him. Hang in there.

Well, you've been kicking the devil in the b@lls for a couple of years now, did you not expect to be hit back? This is a testimony that there are darker entities lurking around... You will need to grab on to the most solid rock you can find, which, ironically, is ethereal: God himself. We are praying for you, friend. We hope God gives you back your strength, so you can burn out doing your mission; fighting the good fight, and not lying down. We are called to be candles.

You are living the curse of our original sin. Death comes to all and it is not seemingly fair. However, by God’s standard it is wholly just. He promises over and over to bless and to curse. He has never NOT fulfilled those promises. What could be more just and fair that GOD would become flesh and be with us to establish the simplest way ever to have everlasting life and be freed from the ultimate curse? All it requires is FAITH. That solves the mystery we can’t understand yet.

I’m a believer. Don’t make your decision to come to Christ based on me or any other human. Christ came in human form to show us what it takes to be what you want others to show you before you commit. He had to come because we are fully incapable of our own salvation. He did it all! That is your stumbling block. If you feel you are being pulled, you probably are.

He's knocking on your door... The heart/soul often feels its edge, but it persists, it has yet to realize the absolute humility that the heart/soul protects against, totally humble by giving absolutely IN and transcending beyond individuality to realization, the Grail - you could say, as it were, it is extremely painful if it must be to go through extreme fear in your mind to the pure unselfishness re-realized in Jesus beyond. "I believe in Jesus and I don't fully understand why"... Shame cannot exist if fear cannot be in an absolutely selfless feeling in the absolute love of God that clears up your misunderstandings, your sin, and the misunderstandings of all mankind. He becomes transparent to the perception of God's Love through absolute clarity, in Jesus, drawing loving attention where it is needed to heal mankind. If the heart/soul transcends it, it will be, looking back over his entire existence from birth to the event, everything was about this transcendent event - what I saw then, my nature, my upbringing, social conditioning, my ' One education, my experiences and suffering, was all the training needed to achieve liberation - and not through my hands. To help humanity to liberation naturally - His work. Any 'shame' that is felt will be in the nature of "oh God, why didn't I know they all just wanted absolute loving attention from the start… I'm crying". I wish you love and health, Jordan.

I really sympathize with Dr. Peterson, but it hurts me to see this excessive intellectualization of suffering. The man is clearly struggling to make sense of his pain via pure, dry reason alone.

I just thought of this... though I thought of it a long time ago and it was a small piece of the puzzle that finally helped me see God. And some of you can disagree if you like... but as a Christian, you are commanded to keep your good deeds secret. I was born in 1981, and for as long as I can remember, people have been engaged in attention economy. That is only magnified now by the internet. My point is, the people you HEAR and SEE are the ones that brag and boast and quarrel. I think that it being a "narrow path" and that we are called to be meek and kind and humble... to keep our good deeds a secret are why it is hard to find an exemplary Christian. Everyone else is so noisy while the meek are busy inheriting the earth.

I would love to see a Podcast of Dr. Peterson and Dr. Michael Heiser. They both explore the unseen realm of the Biblical stories, Peterson psychologically ans Heiser linguistically being a scholar of the Hebrew and Greek languages, the Dead Sea Scrolls etc. They would complement each other's science so well.

“Does the fact that that is how it should be, mean that that is the way that it actually is?” If God does not exist then there would be no reason to act because without an ultimate good to aim at we cannot have any aims at all. If there is a hierarchy there has to be an aim to the hierarchy to structure it. So If we are going to have aims, then there must be an ultimate aim to give structure to the all the other lower aims. Thus even evolution is fundamentally predicated on the existence of God, because evolution implies that life has always had an upwards aim, that’s what the word evolve means, you change and try to become stronger. And if you go back to the beginning of life, even if you do believe in evolution, the first life on this earth would need a God and an ultimate good to aim at to give it a reason to move. And that cannot be self preservation or even avoidance of pain, because death can only be bad if life itself is good. So well it is the case that Christianity and God is the best possible thing to aim at and that there is nothing more worthwhile to believe in, it is also true that to have any aim, you must put faith in and aim at God because God is the necessary precondition for moral value and therefore action.
